Deaf Dogs Awareness Week Is Here ~ Now What?

Sam signing I LOVE YOU

Deaf Dog Awareness Week is here and now what do we do? Maybe you’ve seen some stuff posted online about DDAW but felt it didn’t apply to you not having a deaf dog yourself.

I have news it does apply to you because together we can make a difference in the lives of deaf dogs by promoting why they’re adoptable.

DDAW is a week to celebrate that deaf dogs are equal to other dogs, they simply speak a different language that’s all.

So, please join me this week as I write daily posts about Deaf Dogs.

Today you can learn to speak woof with the deaf sign that I’m demonstrating in this photo, it means

<3 Thank you so much! People don't really think DDA week applies to them but many hearing dogs go deaf by the time they are 9 or 10 years old (some even younger) so it is good for everyone to sign to their dogs when they "eat", "go for a walk", "drink water", "go potty" ect.. We offer a simple video on the simple signs on Deaf Dogs Rock under "Beginning Sign Training". The signs are fun to learn and hearing dogs are much more receptive to sign commands and watching their human's body language. Thanks for bringing awareness to just why "Deaf Dogs Rock" MUAH! ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
